Manitoba Hydro is the major energy utility in the Province of Manitoba and the fourth largest energy utility in Canada. Owned by the provincial government and with some of the lowest energy rates in the world, nearly all electricity Manitoba Hydro generates is from self-renewing water power from fourteen hydroelectric generating stations, primarily on the Winnipeg, Saskatchewan and Nelson Rivers. The company employs approximately 6,200 people, of which over 4,000 are located in Winnipeg. Known for their forward thinking and community spirit, Manitoba Hydro Place has helped the company fulfill an aggressive mandate to tangibly demonstrate their deep-rooted belief in sustainability.

Manitoba Hydro's mandate: To be the best utility in North America with respect to safety, rates, reliability, customer satisfaction and environmental management, and to always be considerate of the needs of customers, employees, and stakeholders.
